They are found in salt water and can get up to 300+ pounds and 8 feet long. I have caught a few in the Florida Keys up to around 100 pounds. This piece was handbuilt and fired in a raku kiln to cone 06 (1800 degrees). It is about 14" long.

This is a Permit. They are found in the same areas as the Tarpon, but only grow to 50 pounds. I caught one that was close to 45 pounds - one of the largest that the guide I was with had ever seen. This was fired in the same way as the Tarpon and it is about 10" long.

This is a pitcher that I threw on the wheel and then cut with a cheese slicer. It is about 12" high and was fired in a soda kiln to cone 10 (about 2400 degrees).

I call this a moose pot - it was thrown and handbuilt. The moose head is the lid of the pot and can be removed. It was fired in a reduction kiln to cone 10. It is about 15" high.

This is a small, squared bowl that has Asian influence. It was thrown on the wheel and then squared off after drying. It was fired in a reduction kiln to cone 10. It is 4" high and 6" wide.

I thought that the moose pot was cool and decided to try a shark pot. The head comes off and the interior of the head is bright red - the shark just ate! It is 16" high and was fired to cone 10 in a reduction kiln.

Here is a teapot that I have made. I tend to not have a plan and just let the clay decide what I will make. This was the result. It was fired in a soda kiln to cone 11 and is about 9" high.

My awesome car - 2005 Subaru Outback XT

This is a picture of my new car.
